About Me

This is me with my dark red golden retriever, Charlotte.  While we ordered her up well before the pandemic, she became our pandemic puppy and traveling without her is hard.  You can see from her expression here that she was not pleased about having to be part of my travel blog.  Sweet Charlotte.  I will always come home to you.

As I mentioned in my Travel Manifesto blog post, I am Mercedes and I experience the world as a forty-something woman with two teenage boys at home, two cats and Charlotte.  I live in Northern Virginia, outside Washington, DC.
